Poverty & Homelessness Eradication - Angels In Action
- Monthly food distribution: we travel to the areas of high homelessness and deliver food to those in need. We sit and discuss with the recipients the factors surrounding their situation and develop a plan to get them off the streets. We work with other organizations to help with housing. We will assist with finding an apartment helping with job training, school training, and job placement. We will follow the recipients’ progress from start to finish.
- We schedule training and discussions on topics such as drug and substance abuse, money management, and self-development monthly.
Mental & Physical Health Programs - Angels In Health
- Mental Health Programs include setting up monthly self-care session discussions via Zoom for 30 minutes with partnered professionals. We will host a “Healthy Mind; Healthy Body” event, which showcases different organizations and some of their offerings twice a year. Recipients will have the opportunity to learn about self-care.
- Trauma is a big part of mental and physical health. We will host a weekly (for six weeks in the fall) event called “Trauma & the Arts.” Trauma & the Arts will allow adults to have the opportunity to work through their trauma with poetry. In the summer, there will be a shortened program for children, where children can tackle their trauma by painting, drawing, and working on creative outlets.
- Black Girls Play – African Americans have a higher risk for specific heart-related diseases, so we created Black Girls Play to offer opportunities for girls of color to engage in tennis, dance, and gymnastics for free during the summer months.
Special Projects - Angels Around US
- The Angel Train – We travel to the area hospitals for specific events: February for Valentine’s Day, April for Easter, October for Halloween, November/December for Christmas. During these events, we dress up, take candy and gifts to the children on the pediatric floors, and entertain.
- Angel Gives – We select one family to bless with their wishes for the holiday season.
- Angel Letters – We compile a list of veterans, and we write letters and send cards to them. We use our ambassadors and volunteers for this project.
